Oh I love these local businesses with such unique attributes in north Tulsa. You wouldn’t find a zebra standing on top of a roof in any other part of town.

Another fun find in north Tulsa. I was driving down the street when I recognized the familiar logo of a nostalgic show I enjoy watching on occasion, Happy Days.
The theme of the assignment was something like American ideas. I experimented with capturing the American idea of success; when I think of that, I first imagine a big brand, often encased in several, pristine facilities. However, as this photo shows, local mom-and-pop businesses can often embody the concept of quality over quantity.
This was included in the first group of pictures I turned in for class, so this was possibly the earliest film shoot I had. I was just walking around taking pictures in my favorite park still trying to figure out my camera; It is my second favorite from Photo 1.
My personal favorite out of my film photography portfolio. One of my good friends who loves nature modeled in Zink Park for me one afternoon. It’s amazing what you can find when you go exploring, that park turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought it was. This photo was honored
The twin image to the girl on the rocks but with a man instead. There will be blessings and trials stacked between each other (as there are patches of dried up land in the midst of the gentle, refreshing river) in life but there is always peace waiting under the surface.
Another “action” shot. At the time, I hadn’t been to Turkey Mountain enough to know my way around and not get lost, even with the trail markers. I made the mistake not once but twice of going to Turkey Mountain by myself in the late afternoon; while I was going around shooting pictures
We may often feel as though the burdens we carry surround us on every side, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Just as the many sharp rocks seem to enclose the subject, there is yet smooth, still water just feet away from her, reminding us that peace
Rachel Wimpey of Willowbrush Studio + Gallery in Tulsa. Amazing artist, especially of biblical content.
